Skate Park/Hiking/Tracy Aviary

We have one heck of a Summer To Do list this year and we've been great at crossing items off left and right! One day we went to TWO different skate parks, ate a free lunch at IKEA and cooled off at a local splash pad. The boys loved the skate park! They've asked to go back several times! All the boys tried jumps and tricks. Even Preston had a good time!

Another fun, adventurous day we were off on TWO different hikes. The first was Grafitti Rock (aka suicide rock) which was very easy and beautiful. I wish we would of brought spray paint though...

It was getting pretty hot that day so we drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon and hiked Donut Falls, another pretty easy hike and very beautiful. I  printed out nature scavenger hunts for the little kids and a harder one for the older boys. It was a lot of fun. The boys teamed up and worked together to complete their searches.

Another day we stopped off at (THE BEST) doughnut shop (Banbury Cross) and then headed to Tracy Aviary. We stopped under a tree for a picnic then ate those delicious donuts. It was a pretty hot day so we walked to a nearby splash pad to cool off.

This summer has been a lot of fun. My house is messier than ever because we're always out playing. And it's great! I really enjoy planning and spending time with these kiddos. They are pretty cool boys and I'm glad to be their mom.

HAPPY SUMMER!!

Spring Break Part 2 - Goblin Valley and Hiking

We headed to Goblin Valley the next morning after everyone slept in and ate some breakfast. The park was about 25 minutes away from our hotel. It was simply amazing, even at first glance. You're in the middle of nowhere and all of a sudden, there are a million of these Goblin statues everywhere. It was beautiful. It was windy. It was way fun!

We spent the next couple hours running, climbing and searching in the valley. The boys even found a couple of geocaches!

Next we headed to Little Wild Horse to hike through the slot canyon. We stopped under a huge rock and ate our lunch, leaving "no trace behind". The boys had a blast. Running, climbing, jumping and exploring every nook and cranny.

One of my favorite things to see was this huge rock with thousands of other rocks on top of it. We all found a rock, made a wish and added ours to the pile.  So cool!

It was fun and so beautiful. We live so close to so many amazing sites that nature has produced over long periods of time. Again, I am so thankful be so close and to experience nature at its finest with the ones I love the most.

Bridal Veil Falls

We had a blast at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon during on of our many hikes we took as a family during the summertime.  It was a pretty warm day, but you couldn't tell when you were standing close to the falls. The cool mist felt delightful! It was a very easy 8-10 hike, well worth it. Everyone had a blast. I am so thankful we live in Utah where there are so many places we can hike and visit that are easy, close and so beautiful!

Bear Lake

We all headed to Bear Lake a few weekends ago over UEA Weekend. I am so glad we were able to get away, even if it was for a just a few days. If was so beautiful up there. The fall colors were all around us.

We went on a few hikes together near Bear Lake. They were all easy enough that all the boys could walk them. It was much colder on the tops of those mountains though!

Can you see Will? Look very closely! He's right in the middle of this huge rock cliff!

Right in front of our timeshare all the trees are bright reds, oranges and yellows. My most favorite time of year!

We went to a couple of museums. We went to a park. We played tennis every day and we also fished. On the first day, everyone caught a fish. Brig's caught the largest one and was thrilled about it!

I also brought up my sewing machine with a couple of sewing projects, and my scrapbooking supplies. While the kids were swimming, watching a movie, playing outside or whatever, I was able to work on some crafts.

We also did lots and lots of swimming in their indoor heated pool, kids pool and Jacuzzi area.

I took this shot at the tennis court right after playing a game against the boys. Breathtakingly beautiful.
And, of course, we had raspberry shakes every night for a yummy treat!!

It was a fun relaxing vacation with the fam.
