HCG

Have you heard of this before? It's so popular right now. I'm on the fence about it though. I have many friends whom have done this or on it right now and have lost tons of weight. Yeah for them!! But then I also have friends who say it's a HUGE no, no!
For me, I like to have moderation in all things. Eat, rest and exercise. When I'm doing that I have a nice tight bod. (I'm obviously NOT doing that right now, but I am getting my butt on track. Literally!) Scott stopped drinking soda 2 weeks ago and started exercising on the elliptical for 30 minutes a day. Last week he started a 1 hour boot camp in the am. He has lost 5lbs, and tightend that belt 1 more notch. Good for you sweetheart!
So, back to the HCG thing. First off, I could never do this. Give yourself shots? WHAT? Insane. I heard (from 2 doctors) that the liquid is pregnant woman's pee. Umm, hello! Sick and wrong?! I talk to Scott about it just this afternoon after visiting him in the office. He said there is some medical explanation to all this but, there hasn't been enough research done on it yet. He compared it to Fin-Fin. Yikes. One of the gals in his office just had a baby like 3months ago and is super skinny. And nursing. Is that right?
I would LOVE to drop some weight. I own 3 different sizes of clothing. The cute and skinny clothes, the maternity clothes and the fat clothes. Unfortunately, I'm still in my fat clothes. I hate it! Is a balanced diet and exercise enough? Does someone have to give themselves shots to fit into their skinny jeans? There are so many (crazy) diets out there...I am confident they ALL work, just maybe not for you. Some thrive on the Atkins diet, others on Jenny Craig and lots on the HCG thingy. But every body is different, and will excel to different methods of weight loss.
Have YOU done this before? Are YOU planning on going to the HCG plan? What are YOUR thoughts on the subject?
(DON'T JUST READ THIS, LEAVE A MESSAGE, A THOUGHT!!)

Another one bites the dust!

OUCH! Our cute little puppy bit Gavin's face over the weekend! I know, crazy to think he'd do that. But in Cooper's defence Gavin was antagonizing him, repeatedly. I warned Gavin to stop (and I should of taken Cooper outside, I knew he'd had enough of the G-man) but I didn't. Gavin went over for one final tease and wham! Cooper growled and bit him in the face. The bottom wound was real deep and made us all a little worried. Scott took Gavin to the ER. Thank goodness Cooper and Gavin are up-to-date on all their shots. He received some anti-biotic, just in case. He's doing better now. We had to call the Police and Animal Control. It was a big 'ol ordeal. Now everything has calmed down and Gavin still loves his puppy, Cooper. Not sure how Coop feels towards him though! :)

Brigham will be 2 in a few days, but we celebrated over the weekend and had a little Elmo birthday party for him. He just LOVES Elmo!! I had a table cloth, balloons, hats and plates from a while back (Gavin's 2nd birthday party!) I made these cute little Elmo cupcakes. They turned out pretty cute.

CUTE Key Chain!

Last night was our weekly craft session, which is always so much fun! The main craft we made last night was a key chain holder. THANK YOU The Idea Room for this fun craft! Thanks Alicia for making the template!
They were pretty easy to make and turned out real cute! These are the two I made!

Real cute, real easy! We're thinking about making a larger version of this for our yoga mats...

5 months already??

Oh, man! This is what I HATE about babies....they grow up too darn fast!

Nathan turned 5 months on either the 28th of February of the 1st of March. He was suppose to turn 5 months on the 29th but that day just doesn't exist in the month of February!
Over by our house there is this huge area of beautiful orange poppy's (like in California everywhere!!) and there are also some pretty purple flowers too. They're only there for about 4 week out of the year and I've always wanted to get some shots of the boys there...So finally thins morning I did! YEAH! (We were actually on our way to the railroad tracks, but hurried and changed course as so as I was driving near the beautiful colors.

Happy, happy Birthday Nathan!! I love you!

Teether Blanket

I made this cute little teether blanket for Nater's. On one side it has the furry fleece and on the other it's a cream colored flannel. I added a bunch of colored ribbons and some teether toys. This is what I ended up with! Nathan LOVES it!

Casino Night

The other night was Casino Night here on campus. It was a whole lot of fun. The decorations were great. There was an area with food, 2 black jack tables, 2 poker tables, 2 roulette tables, and area for karaoke and a bar with a ton of mixed drinks (non-alcoholic, of course!!) The dealers were real at each table. The pit boss, Dallas, handed out money to everyone. I played black jack and poker for a while and then some of my good friends and I went in the karaoke area and had a blast. Together we sang a ton of songs, we laughed at the other people trying to sing, drank drinks, and took jello shots. Here we are in a little break from singing our brains out...Elise, Shalene, Tiffany and I.

THANKS ladies for another FUN evening!!

Pine Wood Derby

Again...This time it was Will and Jackson's Pine Wood Derby. This was Jackson's first, one that he will remember for a very long time!
Our good friends, the Udall family, have a ton of tools to build great pine wood derby cars. So, of course, we headed over there to build the boys' cars. First, the boys designed what they wanted on paper. Scott helped to draw it onto the block of wood. Then he also assisted the boys in cutting the shape out of the wood. The boys used a sander and also hand sanded the cars down until they were really smooth. Dwight melted some lead and sored some in the bottom of the cars. We spray painted the cars several times, sanding it between coats, to make a beautiful shiny finish on them.

Dwight won an award, "The Derby Dude" that we help make for him for all the help he offered to all the children that participated in the derby.Jackson WON the entire Pine Wood Derby! His car was the fastest and won every single race!

Mini Goals Week 15

Last week went great. I didn't end up making any new recipes, just some yummy ones I hadn't made for a while. There were a few cold wet days so I made Tortilla soup! YUMMY! There was only one day that I didn't complete my mini goal. You know the day, it was FREE Jack in the Box AND pancakes at IHOP! I could not resist FREE food! And it turned out to be a lot of fun. So, THANK YOU Jack in the Box and IHOP for a yummy day!

Back to more important things, like my mini goal! This week's mini goal is short and sweet....drum roll please....NO FRIED FOOD of any kind! Honestly, it'll be easy. I never fry anything at my house, we're not planning on heading to a restaurant this week for dinner, but we usually go to the cafeteria here on campus for lunch. I usually get a sandwich or pizza, but I do order a side of fries. So, I guess the real mini goal is no french fries :) Oh, man just re-reading this is making my mouth water for fries! I CAN DO THIS!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!
What are the mini goals YOU have been working on? What is this weeks mini goal for YOU?
GOOD LUCK! And, if you see me at the cafeteria don't bother coming over to chat if you have fries! :)

Ahoy There Matey!!

Gavin celebrated his 4th Birthday and he wanted to have a Handy Manny party. Well, I looked everywhere for anything Handy Manny and nothing was available except to order it on-line through Nick Jr. dot com. So I talked Gavin into choosing another theme. After rattling off several cool kinds he chose a Pirate Party! We dug out Will's old Pirate costume Nana bought him from Disneyland when he was in Kindergarten! Look how cool his cupcake cake turned out! The small island says, "Gavin's Island"!As the guests arrived they were seated at the table and had time to color pirate's and pirate ships while we waited for the remaining guests. After they all arrived we had then sit on the couch while Captain Scott talked to them about what they needed to do to become Pirates. He had theme take the Pirate Oath by covering one eye, using the other hand and making a hook out of it and standing on one leg...It was cute to see the children so into what the Captain was saying. They had to learn a Pirate song so we taught them, "Yo ho, yo ho, a Pirate's life for me..." We continues to sing that periodically throughout the party.

Next all the pirates in training had to learn to walk the plank. Frontwards and backwards, just in case! They took turns looking for berried treasure by playing pin the treasure on the "X".
They also had to learn how to withstand a terrible storm at sea. Each of the kids hopped on to Captain's back and Scott flung them around for a few seconds. (It was like a bull ride). All the kids loved that! The children ate cupcakes, and Gavin opened all the awesome gifts he received. We saved the BEST for last, the pinata! We were suppose to have this and other activities outside, but it was surprisingly raining that afternoon here in Mesa. So, Captain Scott stood there holding the rope that held the pinata. The kids used a wooded sword to brake open the treasure chest pinata!

It was a very FUN party! Thanks Gain for having another wonderful birthday!

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY big guy!!
