Candle Sticks

I made these candle sticks today...One of my many projects. Super easy and they turned out just beautifully. I couldn't be more happy. Thank you Drab To Fab for this great idea! I plan on making more more of these bad boys soon!

Preschool!

Today was Gavin's FIRST day of preschool! He has been excited to go for weeks and FINALLY the day has arrived. He got a new cute outfit on, grabbed his backpack, and headed out the door with his brothers. We all walked to school, so mom could get a bazillion shots of the big day!

Here is Gavin and the lead teacher. He is handing her the cute candy craft I made a while back. She was surprised and very thankful we thought of giving a gift to her.

All the children wear "collars" with their names on it for the first few weeks so the teachers and other helpers can identify the children's names. Gavin found his real quick and was excited to put it on.
He had a wonderful time, just too short. He goes from 8:15 to 11:15 only. He already has his backpack by the garage door ready for tomorrow!

Birthday Board

This was a cute and easy craft I made this morning (while 4 of my boys were in school and 1 was napping! Great day!!) I got this cute Birthday Board idea from
How Does She. I made mine a little different then the one she showed on her blog. I used a scrape piece of wood which was 20" long not 24" like she suggests. I modge podge cute paper and sanded is down adding vinyl, stickers, cut-outs and fringe to dress it up. I placed notes and balloons to the birthday board. It was cute and fun and it's perfect to put out during a loved ones birthday.

Happy Birthday Will!!!

My sweet Will turned 11 years old today! Happy, happy birthday big guy! I brought donuts so he could celebrate with his class this afternoon. When everyone was done with homework we opened gifts. Scott and I got him this automatic BB gun. He just loves it. Scott gave him his Swiss army knife that Scott received when he became a boyscout. Will was super excited for that too.

The boys got him a bucket of BB's and a small BB gun.

Will is such a wonderful young man. HE is so hard-working and kind. He is always helping and caring for his little brothers and friends. I can always count on him when doing chores or getting something extra special done for me. He pulls straight A's and has his entire elementary school days. He gets 100% on all his spelling tests and 95-100% on other subjects. He loves playing games and playing outside. I am so thankful to have in my family.
I LOVE YOU WILL!!!!!!!!!!

Can you guess which ones I took?? What is YOUR favorite?

Canning Tomaotes

Our relief society had a canning tomatoes class the other night at Nicole's house. She has grown a ton of tomatoes and was so kind to host the event in her backyard and let everyone have some of her tomatoes. THANKS NICOLE!!!

Per jar you add 1 tsp canning salt, 1 tsp sugar and 1 T white vinegar. You boil the tomatoes until the skins start to peel of themselves and then take them out of the boiling water. Using a paring knife peel the rest of the tomato skins completely off and cut into pieces and put in jar. Make sure the rim is wiped clean before you seal it.

We then placed the glass jars into a boiling water bath. You can also steam them. That's it. Super easy!

SLIME!!

Will has this fun book with all these interesting recipes ti make. One of them is SLIME! So we made it the other day. It was fun to see the boys so excited to make it and play with it.

Pictures of the CAKE!!

Here are the pictures I forgot to add to the CHOCOLATE ZUCCHINI CAKE....it tastes like a soft brownie...so, so good!!

Allens!

What a GREAT family the Allen's are! We were neighbors when we lived at Stoke Housing on UCSB student housing in beautiful Santa Barbara! We've kept in touch over the many years, thank goodness. They are so fun and we love spending time with them. They are now living in New Mexico, but have a ton of family here is Salt Lake. When we first met Dan and Amanda they had ONE son and we had TWO. They now have FOUR and we have SIX. How wonderful!

We LOVE you guys!!!

Birthday Wreath

This was a very fun craft to make. September and October is a busy month for the Thompson household when it comes to birthdays. I've wanted to make this cute craft from The Creative Homemaker for a while now. I am so happy with the final outcome. It took 4 packages of 75 balloons. The wreath I bought was little too large, but oh well...I ended up making a cute little vinyl lettering sign to go on it instead on doing balloons all the way around. You could also add little ribbon throughout it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Silhouettes...DONE!!

This craft is finally done and man, does it look GREAT!!! It was pretty easy to do. It took me a long time because I kept working on other projects. I placed all these adorable silhouettes in my entry way to our home.
I took profiles of each of my six boys and then printed it out in my office. I taped the picture to a piece of black construction paper. Slowly, I took an exacto knife and traced around each of their cute little heads. I then glued the black silhouette to white card stock and placed in a frame. Simple. Beautiful.

Happy Birthday Brynnlee!!

Happy, happy birthday to my sweet cousin, Brynnlee! I wanted to do something special to celebrate her birthday so I made a delicious Italian meal and Red Velvet Cake. She chose the menu and the cake and it was great!

After dinner we played games. Here we are playing "Curses". This is a very fun game with lots of outgoing people. We ended the game just laughing to the point of tears. It was so fun!
Here's Aliegh scratching every time an animal noise is made....
Miss Birthday Girl had to dance every time she spoke...Among other funny things.
Tyler and Angie had to keep their hands on the chest, only using their hands.

Another funny thing Ang had to do was to make fists only with her hands. The funny thing is, she jacked up her pinkie finger and can't close her hand all the way. Scott rung the bell fast and she lost that curse! :)

Make a wish! We used trick candles and she kept blowing....Funny!
I had Brynn wear my wedding ring so we could take some fake engagement pictures. It was so funny! (But hopefully coming soon!)
Another reason why we LOVE living in Utah. It's so nice to be close to so many friends and family. Life is good, real good! Happy, happy birthday Brynnlee! I hope you had a wonderful time. I know we did!
