Halloween 2012

As usual, the Halloween season was jam packed with fun parties and activities. On Halloween morning, the kids had their Halloween parade at Rosecrest Elementary School; which is always fun to watch.
Brigham was a pirate (the same costume Will was when he was in Kindergarten) and Brigham is still in pre-school!
Cute Nathan was a football player, just like his older brothers!
Jackson was a vampire...And Tyler wore his football uniform as his costume.
After the parade, were Halloween parties galore! We started in the preschool room with Nathan and Brigs.

Later that afternoon, we headed to Trick 'r Trunk in our neighborhood. Next, we headed to our cousin Angie's house for homemade root beer and chili.
Gavin dressed like a doctor for school, but wanted to be a zombie too. Scott decided to dress up and do the same thing!

Cute Preston was a dragon and a giraffe. I bought a darling Pea costume, but it didn't end up fitting. He's so tall! Half the day he wore the dinosaur (Will, Jackson and Tyler did too for their first Halloween!) But blew it out and we had to change into the giraffe costume. I wore all black, added some glittery makeup and huge fairy wings. Done. Easy. Fun.

Trick or treating was fun. We headed to a neighborhood near our cousins' house where there are a lot of rich people. They handed out full size candy bars to the kids!
The house above had a scary witch, and Nathan was about to abort when he saw her. We coxed him onto the porch.

About an hour into trick or treating we were able to get this shot with the three little ones together (the 3 big boys had taken off with friends and were gone for another 2 hours). Everyone had huge bags full of candy. It was a fun Halloween!

Lane Pumpkin Patch

While in Santa Barbara a couple weeks ago, we headed to Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch. A favorite every October for many families. It's so fun there. Corn maze, garden, tiny pumpkins, huge pumpkins, hay ride, animals, farm equipment...SO much fun!

This adorable dinosaur costume was worn by Will, Jackson and Tyler! Now it's Preston's turn! Adorable!

Halloween Crafts!!

I try to make one or two new crafts for each holiday. These past couple weeks I have been able to make a couple cute, easy ones. I made this cute Happy Halloween sign for my porch. I pained it, sanded it and then stained it to give is an old vintage look.
I sewed this cute little mummy costume onto one of Little P's onesies. Seriously took no more than 10 minutes to make.

While in Santa Barbara we headed to an awesome pumpkin patch where Preston wore this onesie. So cute!!

This cute skeleton has been super fun on the refrigerator. Several times a day the boys will rearrange the arms and legs and it's been fun to have. I should of laminated him though! Here is the template for him.

I also found some cute Halloween printable here. I printed them out and the boys have loved coloring them all week long. FUN!!

Here is my next project...A Halloween table runner. I have the fabric and ribbon but haven't sewn it yet. Here is the tutorial for it. I'll post pictures of mine, after it's completed. Hopefully by Halloween!!

Craftin' Away...

It was a long 4 day weekend (YEAH!!) and the family and I spent most of the time having fun! We went to the movies, the zoo, some went camping, working on Reflection entrees (more on that later), reading and crafting. I made that cute witch (above) which was a lot of fun. My friend in the ward cuts wood out. I panted it, sanded it and stained it. (It's missing a cute crescent shape for the hat...darn kids!)
These two (cut out by the same friend) were made last week in a Relief Society craft night activity. Easy and fun!

I also made this cute board over the long weekend. Again, it was simple to make and fun!
I haven't had much time lately to craft, so this was a rare occasion. I have a few more Halloween things to do and several Christmas ones I want to complete this season. Cross your fingers I can get to them all!!

Funny quotes of the holiday weekend...

Man, my kids are a hoot. They come up with the funniest comments. They keep me young and laughing. I sure love these guys!

Yesterday in the midst of Halloween activities Tyler became very upset and told he to tell Jackson to "just stop it!" In a very mad voice. I asked what Jack had done and Tyler's reply was, "He keeps reading my mind!" HA! Apparently Tyler wanted to go to a certain station at the park and Jackson said it out loud and that just ticked Tyler off.

Last night while trick-or-treating (In Utah they trick or treat on Saturday...)We were at Gavin's preschool teacher's house chatting with her and her family. She said we needed to head across the street because then entire family is dressed up as hippie's. I told her we would when we came back down the street. So, later as were then approaching the house Jackson says, "I don't want to go to that house!" After Scott and I asked why he said, "Because that's a house of Hobo's!" Hobos! No, no sweet heart! Hippie's! We told the family and we all laughed our heads off!

One house we went to was totally decked out in Halloween decor. I even walked up to the front door because I wanted to see everything. As we're standing there I see one of the "scary" decorations moving a bit. I kinda jumped back and yelped. The boys immediately looked over at me then to where I was looking. And then that decoration was really no decoration and was a man dressed up and started really moving. All my boys screamed and ran. Jackson started crying.  We then started laughing. It was a FUN night!

Halloween- Second Half

It's F-A-L-L!!! And I love it. I love the weather cooling off...I love the colors everywhere...I love the trees and the messy leaves everywhere... I am so happy to be here!!!
After lunch and naps we were off again with Scott and Will to a local park that was hosting fun, free activities. You can't beat that! Gavin was running down the center of the field yelling he loves this place. Cute kid!

There were a ton of activities for the kids to do. It was a very fun family event. Then, it started raining! BOO! We headed oer to a cousins house where they eat Chili, donuts and Witch's Brew for their Halloween tradition. It was fun to join them on the festivities! THANKS BOYCES!!
We headed over to a neighborhood that was real wealthy. (My cousin used to live there...) They handed out toys and candy bars and the kids LOVED it! About 7pm we decided to head on back to our neck of the woods. We put Nathan and Brigs down for bed, it had been a LOOONG day for those two. I walked down our street with the boys and we stayed out till 9pm. We now have 6 full grocery store bags full of candy! (What I always do is have the kids hold cute little Halloween trick-or-treating bags and then in the car or at home we have grocery bags with their names on it. So when their bags get heavy then can dump it into a different bag.)
We had a very fun day!
 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Halloween- First Half

Back to the grocery store we went...The big kids wanted to participate in the festivities. (Will and Scott were at BYU for a scouting activity all morning and afternoon long...)
There's my monkey, Superman, Lion, cowboy and Sideman. With Mr. Incredible mask on...Silly boy!

Racing through the grocery store to fill their bags with edible treats...

Next we were off to Michael's for some Halloween crafts. The gal there in charge painted Gavin's, Tyler's and Brig's faces! How awesome!

We also made Colored Duct Tape bracelets.
After Michael's we went next door to Toys R Us where they held their annual Halloween party. They handed out bags and had the children parade around the store to receive treats and little prizes. We then headed to our cousins ward Truck or Treat.
And this is only half the day...

Party at the grocery store

Seriously, there was a party at one of the grocery stores here. In front there were a ton of pumpkins the kids could climb on and take pictures with.

Sweet Naters has a Halloween shirt on that says, "I love my Mummy!"
In the store there were 10 different stations the kids could walk to and receive yummy things to fill their bags. The first station they received these cute reusable Halloween bags. Items they received were apples, milk, cheese, candy, cookies, a mini pumpkin, pencils, popcorn, Popsicles...I only had the little boys with me and they had a blast. The grocery store is doing this again on Saturday so I may come back with the bigger kids...

Some of our favorite cousins came along for the fun!
