Fire Station

Tyler LOVES cub Scouts and is doing so well there. His pack does a lot of Go-See's, which are Tyler's favorite. A few weeks ago we went to a fire station, a brand new one. It was HUGE! It was BEAUTIFUL! And we all had a lot of FUN! Check him out in this picture...He is the second youngest kiddo there and by far the tallest! And that smile...what a cutie!

There are 2 different areas for the trucks to be parked. There is enough room for 4 large rigs. Upstairs are the individual rooms for the fire fighters to sleep or rest in. The are 2 poles and slides on either side of the upstairs area and an elevator right in the middle. They have this huge movie room that the fire fighters watch special videos and conferencing. There are several levels and the seating are these over sized lounge chairs. COMFY!

There were 12 fire fighters there that night on call. And yes, all of them are very handsome, strong men. :)

The is also this huge work out room, that of course the fire fighters all use. They all had fine hard bodies, which was fun to look at!

A little Fall Decorating

We took down all the Halloween stuff and put out a few things for Thanksgiving. I took some cute pictures of this awesome pumpkin patch in Santa Barbara of the boys and of the different fall things they had there. I blew them up and put them in frames around the house. It adds a little and it's fun to see how the boys have grown.Wow, Christmas is right around the corner. Time is going by fast, which I love because that means the sooner we move! YEAH! I told Scott right after the holidays I'm going to start packing up the house. We don't move until June!

Anyways, we love Thanksgiving time. I love fall. I love cooler weather. I love the colors of fall. I love pumpkins. I love turkey with cranberry sauce.

Crafting

Tis the time of year to craft! I enjoying crafting. It's a lot of fun. Our ward is having a mini super Saturday coming up and I helped with the planning of the event. Here are a few things I've been working on and there are still a few more that I need to finish up today.

This is a 4x4x4 picture block. I made on of these a few years ago for my mom as a Christmas gift. She LOVED it so it was about time to make another!

Here is one I am still making, so I am using the photo from the gal I got the great idea from! We're also putting a larger Nativity on a glass ice block with twinkle lights inside.

Here is a great Christmas quote that we're using.

Here is a cute and easy missionary quiet book that we are also doing.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme gives FREE donuts to children when they bring in their report cards. For every A a child receives they get a FREE donut. SWEET! Jackson was up first and the gal says that he gets 5 donuts. Oh no, I'm thinking, they are getting a lot of donuts and will think they can eat them all in one sitting! Tyler is up next, 6 FREE donuts! Will also gets 6. They willingly share with Gavin and Brigham, thank goodness. They only ate 2 each that night and had the other for breakfast the next morning.
Check out Brig's here eating one and holding on to the other. Taking a bite from this one and then that one. So cute.
I guess Brigham had a good idea because here is Tyler doing the same thing!
THANKS Krispy Kreme!!

What a Treat!

This Halloween was Brigham's first REAL time going trick or treating. He was so dang cute and picked it up pretty fast. He first followed his brothers up to the door. Brig's first tried to open the door himself!
Then when the door opened he'd try to walk in!
Usually the people would hand him a piece of candy, but Brigham tried to grab his own handful! He only went to about 5 doors and he was done! He wanted back in the stroller and was fine sitting there eating his candy the rest of the night!
Here is what he got at the first house! Are you kidding me? That's huge!

Here is baby Nathan sound asleep, like most of the night! He is wearing an adorable dinosaur costume that Will wore on his first Halloween!

Mini Houdini!

I have this one kid who thinks he's a teenager, I swear! He is so independent. He'll just leave the house and walk or ride his bike to a friend's house or to the park to play. It doesn't matter what time of day or whether he's asked (or told) his mom where's he's off to. I think he's been lost several times, but not to him. He's out exploring. Playing. Finding. Having a nice time. After we had to call the police because he was missing.....I won't tell you how long.....I decided that time-outs, taking privilege away or getting mad at him no longer worked. I told Scott I wanted to buy one of those metal lock things like in a hotel. You know the bar that you can flip over so the door can open just a peep. Well, Scott insisted we get those (LAME) plastic door knob covers. So off to Wal-mart I went. I came home and put them right on. I tell the wandering boy to "just try to open the door now!" Ha, ha, ha. (say it like a witch rubbing her hands together...) Then my jaw hit the floor. First try. First attempt. He's like, yeah now what mom! It had to be a fluke, right? So I moved the plastic thingy around and said "try it again!" And he did exactly what I asked him to do. So, really he was obedient. Off I went to Wal-mart again, thank goodness it's right across the street, and bought the metal thingy. Like I wanted to originally. But now I start doubting it and think this kid will be able to escape. He's like a mini Houdini! Over the weekend Scott puts it together and....

Wal-la! He can't reach it. Not even standing on a chair! YEAH! (Rubbing hands together) Ha, ha, ha my plan has worked! Finally!

Tubby Time

Nathan LOVES the bath, all my boys did. Don't all babies? Is is the warmth of the water all over their little bodies? Is it the sound the water makes as it comes out of the faucet? Maybe both? I let him lay there for several minutes enjoying his little bath then I lather him up. After tubby time he gets dried off and then a little massage with some baby oils. He feels soft and smooth, smells yummy and then sleeps like a baby. Literally!

1 month old...and counting

Man, oh man! Little Nathan is already 1 month old? You gotta be kidding me! That went by fast, too fast! We all sang him happy birthday a few times during the day. He even received a call from his favorite Nana!

One of my friends from the ward asked if she could practice taking pictures of a newborn. Hmm, cool professional photos of my sweet baby boy....YES! She said she needs the practice, but I think they turned out fantastic! She's planning on taking more when he's 6 weeks, 2 month, 3 month and so forth! She also wants to do some with the other brother's sometime in the near future.

P.F. Changs

P.F. Chang's is one of my favorite restaurants of all times. I could name several items off the menu that are Scott's and my favorite. But the one that tops the list is the lettuce wraps. My mouth is watering as I'm typing. YUMMY!
Well, last week I was invited to attend with some of my boys to a Kid's Menu Tasting Event. Scott and I had to rearrange our busy schedules to make sure I could attend this event. It sounded fun and free food from P. F. Chang's, why wouldn't I go? We drove all the way into Scottsdale (about 20-25 minutes away from our home). Earlier that morning we had to leave super early for soccer games and birthday parties.
We arrived at 1pm and as I walked in, I noticed only a few staff members where there. no other mom bloggers. No other children. Uh-oh. I asked one of the servers about the special event I was invited to and he knew nothing of it. The manager came over and preceded to explain to me that the main chef's wife had emergency surgery and the event was postponed. BUMMER! He was extremely nice and said the event had been rescheduled for November, and Laura (the main gal in charge of the shin-dig) tried to contact me several times. He was very apologetic. Then, he asked if he could treat my entire family to a free lunch. Yes, I said a FREE lunch at P.F. Chang's! I feel bad for the lead chef's emergency surgery, but free lunch! How great is that! Scott parked the car and brought in the rest of the gang. We huddled around a table and ordered. Just looking through the menu made my mouth water. It had been too long since we had been to P. F. Chang's.

Here is Jackson coloring and playing all the little games inside of the children's menu.

Will taking some sips of his favorite drink, a Shirley Temple. YUM!

The Thompson gang waiting patiently for our food to arrive!

It's here! Our FREE lunch from one of the most yummy, delicious restaurants around!

Here is the aftermath...The damage had been done. We are all full and this is what a typical table looks like when we've had enough! :)
THANK you P. F. Chang's for a GREAT lunch!
THANK you manager who was so kind to offer a FREE lunch to us!
THANK you to my friend Stephanie who forwarded my name to be included to this event!
THANK you Laura for the invite!
See you in November!!
