Blessing Day

Today was an extra special day...It was Robbie's blessing day. We are so blessed to have this sweet addition to our family. He really is a great baby. Robbie eats well, sleeps well, has good wake times and now is smiling and cooing at all of us.

We had so many wonderful family and friends that came to support us this morning. A special thanks to all of those families!! The Schmidt family, The Walker family (times 2), The Goodrich family, The Monson family, The Vail family, The Gardner family, Jackson Mann, The Gormus family, The Towers family, Scott's parents, The Jessop family, and many wonderful ward member families.

The blessing Scott offered was sweet and full of lots of special blessing Robbie is entitled to. There were 12 incredible men that stood in the priesthood circle to participate in the blessing.
After the blessing and sacrament it was fast Sunday. Cute Tyler and Gavin walked up to the pulpit and bore their testimonies. It was sweet to hear them speak. I felt the spirit really strong and also bore my testimony, even though I wasn't planning on it. I expressed how blessed I am with Robbie and all of my sweet boys in my life. Robbie was wrapped in a blanket that my aunt Margene made for my brother's blessing many many years ago. I bore testimony that families are forever and I know I will see Margene and William again.

After church we all came back to our house where we served Banbury Cross Donuts milk and juice. It was fun to mingle with everyone.

After it was all over this cutie pie slept for 3 hours!

The Boys

Will is a smart, hard-working, handsome son. He's the oldest, and he's great at it. Will is a great example to all his brothers and a huge help to me. Will loves football, lacrosse, and park skiing. He's in 10th grade at Olympus High School, has all advanced classes and is pulling straight A's.

Jackson has a great imagination and keeps us laughing. He is very creative and is great at drawing, writing and making up stories. He is my number 1 go-to-guy for babysitting; Such a great helper!! Jackson is in 8th grade at Evergreen Jr. High, is in advanced classes and is doing great.

Tyler is in the 6th grade and is my super athletic son. He is great at most sports but excels at football, lacrosse and basketball. Tyler is wild and crazy and always fun to be around. Tyler is great with his newest younger brother, Robbie. It is so sweet to see such an aggressive guy become so soft and kind to a baby brother.

Gavin is almost 9 years old and such a great kid. Gavin is the most confident and brave kid that I know. He will disappear, off on his own, without a care in the world.  Gavin is a good looking kid with lots of girls that follow him around. Gavin loves most sports and especially loves park skiing. You will find him skiing backwards down the hill. Before leaving, anywhere, he makes sure his hair is combed perfectly.

Brigham is the biggest "ham" of them all, and that must be why it is in his name. He is the sweetest little personality, and is so kind to everyone. Brigham is the biggest love bug; always hugging, kissing and snuggling with me. He is the biggest 6 year old you'll ever meet, but a super soft teddy bear inside. Brigham tries to do everything his older brothers do. He loved playing flag football, but is ready for the real stuff next year. He loves playing basketball and park skiing.

Nathan is such a great kid. He is 5 years old and loves playing outside and playing inside. He enjoys watching YouTube tutorials on Minecraft games and then grabbing my cell phone or iPad and advancing in the game. He's a little quieter than the others, but still a fun, outgoing kid. Nathan is enjoying his last year of preschool and is already excited for Kindergarten to start next year.

Preston is secretly my favorite son! He has such a great personality. Preston talks ALL THE TIME and asks a bazillion questions about everything. I love how inquisitive he is. If you are sad or angry, just spend 5 minutes with this kid and he'll make you not only smile but you'll be laughing. Preston is such a riot! He is a little mini version of all of the other boys.

And then there's Robbie. He is a darling. He sleeps great, thank goodness! He's starting to smile and coo at me and the other boys. He reminds me of Benjamin Button with his grumpy old man faces that he makes. I love his huge dark, blue eyes and when he scrunches his forehead. So cute! He's also my favorite...shhh, don't tell!

Family Pictures 2014

I always wanted to get married and become a mom.
I always wanted lots of kids.
I always wanted lots of BOYS.
Well, I got everything (and more) than I could possibly wish for.

I knew Scott and I were great together and we would start a family, but really who knew it would be like this? It's loud, messy, stinky, crazy and so worth it. We always have a good time. I wouldn't change a thing! I love Scott with all my heart. He's my whole entire world...I totally married up! Then there's all these handsome, smart, outgoing, fun boys. WOW!!! I'm more than lucky. I'm more than blessed.

We had a blast taking these family pictures. (Along this super cool fence between the Salt Lake Zoo and the This is The Place Heritage Museum)

Here I am surrounded by all my wonderful boys!! Blessed x8!!

The first week

Looking over these pictures makes me incredibly grateful that he is OUT OF ME and that everything went smoothly. He's healthy, and I'm happy.

Here's Nana at the hospital taking a boatload of pics of baby Robbie. He went to the nursery to get his first bath. He loved it.

A few hours later, all the brothers came to the hospital to meet the little guy. Everyone loved meeting Robbie. Loved holding him. Loved kissing him.

Because he weighed more than 9 pounds he had to be tested (repeatedly) to get his Bilirubin levels checked.  With the Gavin, Brigham and Nathan, they had to be under the bili-lights for a couple of days.  But Robbie lucked out and didn't need them, but it didn't stop them having to check the levels a bunch of times. Ouchy!!

He passed his hearing test.

More snuggle time with Nana. His poor eyes were so swollen and red. It may have been Nana's perfume! :)

Look at all that hair! Sure is a Nielsen baby!!

He looks just like Gavin when he was born. He also makes a ton a of grumpy old man faces. It's so funny.

First family picture!!

Out of all the boys, I've been most surprised with this guy. Tyler is a total jock. He is super hyper, always bouncing off the walls (driving me bonkers), always too touchy and bugging his brothers... But, around this new baby he is a different kid. He is soft and gentle and kind. He holds Robbie more than anyone else. Tyler will snuggle him and love him until he falls asleep in his arms.
All the boys have welcomed Robbie into the family with open arms. They all kiss and hold him ever chance they get. It's been wonderful. But I am especially touched by Tyler's love for him.
