Shuck-A-Buga

For those of you lucky cats out there that know my mom, you've seen these pictures in real life before! For those of you individuals out there that do not have the pleasure of knowing my mom, here is little glimpse into her crazy world.
These shots perfectly describe my mom. She is wild, crazy and oh so much fun! She'll walk outside with her crocks to take pictures of her grandsons. I always tell my mom she's going to make me millions when I write a book with all her quirky sayings and rituals she does. She makes up words like Shuck-a-buga. She says words out of context all the time that make all of us laugh. Like, when someone is being rude to her she'll call them "ignorant". She orders a lot of food, but will only nibble on it. Save it in the fridge and then a few days later will throw it away. She orders the SAME THING at restaurants. Mexican food = beef taco a la carte with a glass of milk. Pizza place is always cheese thin crust with extra Ranch. At a Red Robin kinda place it's a side salad with extra ranch, grilled cheese with tomatoes, and a Mr. Pibbs. (Yes, with a "S"!) She is always in the mood to play games and watch movies. She owns several that are all still in their wrapper locked in a drawer in her room for safe keeping! She has 5 cats and 1 dog that she LOVES and treats like her own children, seriously! My mom is funny, silly and so wonderful. She is head over heals in love with each one of my boys. She even likes Scott! And you can't go wrong with that!

Santa Baby

One last Santa post...Here is cute little Nate in his Santa outfit on Christmas Eve hanging out with us. While in Santa Barbara Scott, my mom, Bill, my brother William, and I stayed up LATE and played games every night. I'm still not on the right schedule!

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Happy, Happy Birthday to my little man! Nathan Joseph Thompson is3 months old! I can't believe it. He is so wonderful. I just love, love, love him!

3 thing I love about my sweet baby doll is this...
One- He is such a good sleeper! Just last night I fed him around 10pm and he woke up at 6:45. Nursed, and then went right back to sleep until a little after 9am. He sleeps good which means I sleep good which mean mom is happy and that is all that really matters, right?! :)
Two-He is such a good eater. He is finally gaining weight...YEAH! He latches and and chows!
Three-Is is such a good baby. Always happy with lots of smiles and coos. He recognizes me and Scott and the brothers. It's so fun to have him in our family!

Here is one of our families traditions....

While taking a bunch of pictures of the birthday boy, sweet Brigham had to join in on the photo shoot! He layed down right next to him and held his hand! Look how cute!

Inspiration.....Part 2

I next grabbed my boys and took them to certain locations around the yard I had previously liked and chosen ahead of time for each one of them.

Will’s turn. He was roaming around the yard with his BB gun shooting at different things, so of course I had to get a few of him with his gun. I finally took it away and held it for him while I shot some other pictures of him by the old oak tree on the way down to the creek.

I placed baby Nathan in one of his bouncy chairs and put in the middle of two overgrown dark green bushes. They didn’t turn out exactly the way I had originally envisioned. It started getting late and the sunlight was fading fast. He also has become such a wiggle worm too!

This is Jackson sitting on a little brick plotting area. Here is where we’d plant tomato plants when I was younger. It’s cool. A little different. Jackson knew just what to do so he can return to playing his games as fast as he could. How funny.

Here is sweet Gavin with the mini red wheel barrow by the old walnut tree. I love this tree because it’s “fall”. Messy, but it is the best tree. In the spring it blossoms, in the summer it is full of large green leafs, and in the fall they all change colors and slowly float down to the ground. LOVE IT!!! He is a great poser. I asked him to sit and this is what he did!! How cute.

Here is Tyler on my brothers OLD motorcycle on the side of the yard. I love how old it looks, I love the brick wall (that I helped build many moons ago), I like the old wooden fence ( my Gram build, many, many moons ago), I like the tree trunk, the old shed, and the brick path….Tyler is so photogenic. All my boys are!

Brigham did NOT cooperate at all….Isn’t that obvious. He had a short nap and was already getting a little cranky. Bummer because those would of turned out real cute. Oh well…

Inspiration

Man, there is a whole lot of inspiration in my mom’s back yard! Brig’s and Nater was sleeping and I was hanging out in the backyard with Scott and the 4 big boys. They were playing on the rope and swing, running around, climbing, and exploring the yard and creek area. It was fun to watch them and to look around to the beauty all around. I ran in and grabbed my camera. Here are a few shots of the beauty I say around the yard…

We sure enjoy playing in Nana’s yard. It’s beautiful. It’s fun. It’s home.

Christmas Morning….

What a wonderful morning it was! We all woke up around 8am and ate a delicious breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon with orange juice. Then off to the living room to open the gifts. At my moms house she has a lot of cats so only Santa’s presents were out under the tree with a large beach towel n top of them to protect them, just in case. Before the present extravaganza started we brought out all the other gifts from Scott and I and the boys. The area was FULL! How blessed are we! The boys opened all of Santa’s gifts first. THANK YOU Santa!

The boys already seemed happy and satisfied with those gifts. At our house Santa uses the same wrapping paper, a very special kind and he also gives the kids 3 gifts each. Like I said, he is so generous! We took turns one by one opening gifts and the boys did a real nice job of saying thank you and liking each gift they received.

My gifts were pans, a juicer, large cutting knives, lotion, a sander, and a beautiful watch. Thank YOU EVERYONE! Scott got socks, a belt, shorts, 2 pairs of pants, some Wii games a book from Michael Crichton, pillows and some DS games. Will got a bike, clothes, church shoes, clothes, a golf glove, DS games, teddy bears, a Bakugan book, Wimpy Kid book, a watch, Lego's and some games. Jackson got a few plush horses, lots of Lego's, Bakugan’s, clothes, transformers, a tin to hold all those (dumb) Bakugan, a Wow Wee Alive Panda Cub, socks, and some DS games. Tyler got several different sizes and types of Tiger's, Lego's a remote control Hummer, Transformers, Bakugans, socks, and some games. (Do you see the pattern here….) Gavin received some Handy Manny toys, a tool set, a jack hammer and blow torch, socks, and a remote control Hummer. Brigham received a few plush Elmo’s, a Elmo book, a ball, a baby doll, Mr. Potato Head with Suitcase, socks…hmmm….I don’t remember…..He helped opened lots of “family” gifts. Nathan got some passy’s, a teething toy, a ball thingy, diapers and wipies.

Like I said we had a GREAT Christmas! Thank you Santa, Nana and Papa!

After the chaos of opening all those gifts we played with a few of them and then got ready and headed to Lompoc. We have several wonderful cousins who live there. We had lunch there, visited, played games, and did a gift exchange. I made vinyl sign for everyone…shocking I know! I received a cute little bubble bath set, and THREE new Willow Tree figurines! How wonderful! One of them is from the angel series and she is crossing her arms to make the “love” sign in ASL! I can’t believe I don’t already have it!

We drove home and made a yummy prime rib roast dinner with a veggy, homemade rolls, baked potatoes, and some dips and chips. We set the table and everything!
We had a VERY Merry Christmas. I hope you did too!
